Custom Automation Solutions Built Around Your Process

Danli designs custom automation solutions for projects where standard products are not enough — special process sequences, unusual site conditions, integration with existing equipment, or a combination of power distribution, motor control and software that has to work as one system. We start from your requirements and build exactly what the application needs, no more and no less.

Typical Custom Projects

  • Special machine and process control – PLC panels with unique sequences, safety functions and HMIs for OEM machines and process skids.
  • Retrofits and upgrades – new control cabinets and drives that fit existing foundations, cable routes and interfaces, replacing obsolete equipment with minimal downtime.
  • Integrated power and control packages – switchgear, MCCs, VFDs and PLC systems engineered together for a new line or plant area.
  • Harsh-environment equipment – stainless steel, high-IP or air-conditioned enclosures for coastal, desert, dusty or chemical sites.
  • Remote and containerised systems – pre-wired, tested electrical rooms and kiosks for sites with limited installation time.
  • Monitoring and data projects – adding energy metering, condition monitoring and SCADA links to existing installations.

Our Custom Engineering Process

  1. Understand the requirement – we discuss the process, constraints, standards and success criteria with your team.
  2. Concept and proposal – a clear architecture, equipment list and budget so you can compare options.
  3. Detailed design – schematics, layouts, control philosophy and test plan, reviewed and approved by you.
  4. Manufacturing and software – cabinets built and wired in our factory; PLC, HMI and SCADA software developed in parallel.
  5. Factory acceptance test – hardware and software tested together, with you present if you wish.
  6. Commissioning and support – installation guidance, on-site or remote commissioning, training and after-sales service.

What Makes a Custom Project Successful

Custom systems succeed when requirements are clear and interfaces are owned. We therefore put a written control philosophy and interface list at the centre of every project, agree test procedures before manufacturing starts, and keep drawings, software and documentation under version control. We also design for the people who will maintain the system — standard components where possible, clear labelling, spare capacity and complete documentation — so a custom solution does not become a maintenance problem later.

Regular progress updates, early sharing of drawings and software screens, and a clear change-control process mean you always know the status of the project and there are no surprises at the factory acceptance test.

Examples of Custom Features

RequirementHow we solve it
Limited space in an existing roomCompact layouts, front-access designs, split cabinets that fit through doors
Very hot or dusty locationClosed-loop cooling, air conditioners, derated components, higher IP rating
Mixed equipment brands on siteGateways and protocol converters, tested interface lists
Process must keep running during upgradeStaged cut-over plan, temporary bypass circuits, pre-tested sections
Strict client documentation standardsDrawings, tag naming and manuals prepared to client templates
Remote site with little local supportRemote access, diagnostics on HMI, recommended spare parts kit

Information to Share at the Start

The more we know early, the more accurate the proposal will be. Useful inputs include a process description or P&IDs, single-line diagrams or load lists, I/O lists, existing drawings for retrofit work, photos of the installation area, preferred component brands, required standards and certifications, site conditions and the target delivery date. If some of this is not yet available, we can help you develop it during a short evaluation phase.

Balancing Custom and Standard

“Custom” does not mean everything is unique. We use proven, standard building blocks wherever they fit — type-tested switchgear designs, standard PLC function libraries, common enclosure sizes and widely available components — and customise only what the application really needs. This keeps costs and lead times under control, makes spare parts easier to find, and means your maintenance team works with familiar equipment. The custom part is usually in the system design, interfaces and software, where it adds the most value for your process.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need a custom solution instead of a standard product?

When the process, site conditions, interfaces or standards are specific enough that a catalogue panel would need major changes — for example special sequences, harsh environments, retrofits into existing plants or combined power and control systems.

Do custom systems take longer to deliver?

Design adds some time at the start, but because cabinets and software are engineered and tested together, commissioning is usually faster and the total project time is often shorter.

Can you work from our existing drawings or specifications?

Yes. We can build to your drawings, or develop the design from your requirements, following your company standards and preferred brands.

Do you provide support after delivery?

Yes. We provide commissioning support, training, spare parts and remote technical support after handover.
